2009 - "The Ebro Descent" run by Iberocycle in September. A trip down the first 300Km of the river Ebro from its source in northern Spain. Considering we were going downstream, an awful lot of those kilometres seemed to be upwards. Very remote, and lovely landscapes. Click here for the trip details on Iberocycle's website.
2008 - a week's cycle ride around the Picos de Europa run by Iberocycle in June. Not the highest mountains I've been up, but the only place I've ever cycled thirty miles continuously uphill. Click here for the trip details on Iberocycle's website.
2007 - the "Catalunya and Costa Brava" cycle ride run by Iberocycle in October. A ride from Girona to Olot, then across to Figueres and the coast at Cadaques, down the coast to San Feliu de Guixols and back to Girona. Click here for the trip details on Iberocycle's website.
2006 - The "Cities of Castile" cycle ride run by Iberocycle in May-June. A trip from Segovia across the rolling country of Castilla e Leon, to Avila, across the Sierras de Gredos and San Vicente then over the plains of La Mancha to Toledo. Click here for the trip details on Iberocycle's website.
2005 - The "Week in Provence" cycle ride run by Cycle Rides Limited of Bath, England, in August-September. A trip from Saint Etienne, south through the Ardeche, across the Rhone valley and into some lumpy bits of Provence, including the climb of the legendary Mont Ventoux.
2004 - The "Week in Rioja" cycle ride run by Cycle Rides Limited of Bath, England, in September-October. A trip through a region whose name is famous, but the area is little-visited. This is surprising as it is both scenic and interesting. And they make a fair bit of rather nice wine :)
2003 - the Vienna to Prague cycle ride run by Cycle Rides Limited of Bath, England, in July.
2002 - A fortnight in the Baltics - trip run by Exodus Travels Limited of London, in September. A fascinating trip through the western edge of the former Soviet Union, with everything from peaceful countryside to the busy capital cities.
2001 - A week in the Pyrenees, an awesome trip run by Cycle Rides Limited of Bath, England, in September. This one took us over several of the big passes used by the Tour de France, including the mighty Tourmalet. Which was on the first day and left my legs shredded for the rest of the trip.
